  2.  Telling a child the story of Santa Claus
  3.  She was all sharp edges and angles, even her knee socks seemed starched.
  4.  My neighbor stood on my stoop with sopping wet hair and a screaming child.
  5.  You are invited to the CEO’s lake house for a dinner party.

         Here we go again…

  1. Think of your top five favorite books. Now put yourself in one of them, walk around, interact with the characters, describe the setting as you see it
  2. Write a personal ad for your main character: they are looking for love, or a dog, or a job…Go!
  3. Think back to Christmases past and reflect on the strangest gift you received. Now have a character receive this gift and write about their reaction.
  4. You open the door to find a mangled package and something inside is moving…
  5. If you were on a busy city street corner and started to pan handle, what would your pitch be?

NaNoWriMo: Day Two

word count today: 2051

mood: pretty good, started off shaky as the hours passed and I hadn’t sat at my laptop. But once I did, the story seemed to just flow out of me. Details I didn’t expect, characters doing things I hadn’t planned. This is the fun stuff of fiction! Now, if only I can keep up this momentum for 28 more days…
