About

Bloom!

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin

Writers Inspired is a community for writers to gather up courage and inspiration. When I started this blog back in August of ’08, it was intended to be a sounding board. But I realized the blog format does not lend well to “discussions.”

Instead I found that writers need a place to lick their wounds and find an encouraging, yet realistic perspective on the writing experience, and maybe a link to a cool contest or two.

Here, you will find inspiring quotes on the general theme of Not Giving Up. From Author Interviews and Book Giveaways to writing prompts, tips and links for writers of all ages!

And, if you’re a Young Writer looking for tips and contests and workshops click this tab: For Young Writers

If you’re a teacher looking for new ways to infuse creative writing into your class, click here For Teachers

Be sure to check these tabs for specific info and events!

Image a cozy coffee shop, laptops buzzing, keys tapping, muse swirling. Stay as long as you like, we never close. But tips (in the form of comments and suggestions) are appreciated.

    Hi,

I saw a writing contest titled, 100 words or fewer. A writer named Mary Jo Campbell was mentioned, and I wanted to know if this was your story that is being shared on the site. I am trying to make sure this is a reputable contest. Please email me at capgoat@hotmail.com.

    Thanks for your time.

  2. Mary Jo, I love your blog! I tracked you down from your Writers Inspired comment on my winning the Fire in Fiction book from the WriterMama contest. And you have indeed inspired me. I appreciate that you blog to support the writing community. I have an idea. I see you finished NanoWriMo last year. If you plan to do it again this year, perhaps those of us who plan to do it too can contribute a guest blog to Writers Inspired to share our experiences during that insane month. And give you more time to WriMo!

    • Thanks, Mar! I recognized your name from the Writer Mama give away this year and last ! Small world – Christina makes another connection. : )
I LOVE your idea of guest posting here during NaNo. I can use all the content I can get that month! Send me an email and we’ll discuss and then I can set up a post calling for guest bloggers during Nov. mjcwriter”at”comcast”dot”net
Thanks so much for getting in touch!
