Small tasks, big results

A great quote to linger over the weekend.

“I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble.”

  1. yI think I will think about this quote more often than just this weekend! As a stay-at-home mom trying to accomplish raising my daughter and writing books, I often feel like the little tasks along the way (such as holding my daughter for 45 minutes as she puts a key into the lock on our door and locks and unlocks it or putting rejection letters into my submission file) don’t amount to much, but they too are great and noble. Thanks for this quote! It makes me think about how the collective whole is more than just the sum of all of its parts.

    • Well said, Kimberly! That’s funny about the lock and key. Wait till she gets older and needs to hold your attention by reciting the entire episode of iCarly. Line for Line. : )
